Non, je ne vais pas vous parler de La La Land mais de la semaine des cinémas étrangers à Paris qui a lieu du 6 au 15 Mars 2018. « Musique et cinéma, voilà le thème retenu par les centres et instituts culturels participant à la 5e édition de la semaine des cinémas étrangers. Vous serez amenés à découvrir 23 films de 22 pays tout au long de cette semaine dédiée à la cinématographie internationale. La musique au cinéma, c’est une longue histoire. Tout a commencé par la mise en musique des films muets avant de prendre, au fur et à mesure la direction de l’émotion que cela peut procurer au spectateur pendant une scène. Désormais la musique est là pour apporter une nouvelle dimension qui est elle-même chargée de sens. C’est devenu une véritable mise en scène qui participe au scénario du film. A travers ces différentes formes que peuvent prendre la musique au cinéma, nous vous invitons à découvrir des comédies musicales, des fictions, des documentaires ou encore des films d’animations qui, chacun à leur manière, vous transporteront dans leur univers musical. »

Pour ouvrir le festival, Broken Song, un documentaire sur les poètes de rue et artistes, rap et hip-hop des quartiers nord de Dublin. Des jeunes qui tentent de combattre le chaos par la musique. Des mots pour des maux. Cette projection fut suivie d’un mini-concert de James Costello, un des protagonistes du long métrage.
