L’expérience musicale et numérique dédiée aux cultures électroniques
Pour la première édition de cet événement, l’INA (Institut National de l’Audiovisuel) a fait les choses en grand. Ce premier festival a lieu dans le bel écrin du Palais Brongniart à Paris. Le rez-de-jardin avec notamment le Grand Auditorium, le rez-de-chaussée avec sa NEF, et tout le niveau 2 sont ouverts pour l’occasion au public.
Les arts numériques sont mis en avant.

Jean-Michel Jarre est le parrain du festival. Lors d’une conférence au Grand Auditorium, il est revenu sur ses 50 ans de carrière et sa vision de la musique de demain, avec notamment l’utilisation de l’intelligence artificielle. De nouveaux styles de concerts diffusés par voie numérique dans le monde entier devraient éclore, des concerts avec des artistes qui jouent à différents endroits de la planète, à la façon des plateformes de gaming où un français peut jouer avec un japonais, un américain, un russe, de son salon.
La nef du Palais Brongniart accueille les têtes d’affiches avec entre autres, Erol Alkan, Arnaud Rebotini, The Supermen lovers. Des live que j’ai adorés. Le niveau sonore est assez élevé, mais des bouchons d’oreilles sont distribués gratuitement. Il y a aussi des endroits où on peut se reposer, à l’intérieur ou en plein air sur les marches du Palais, ou encore sur un transat. Des espace bar et food trucks sont présents pour contenter les petites soifs et faims. Bref, une très bonne organisation.
Le Festival, c’est aussi des projections, des expositions, du merchandising. On ne s’ennuie pas. Ce qui est sympa, c’est de se balader dans ce mythique palais (ancienne Bourse Parisienne) et découvrir les différents stands et activités. Pour ma part, j’ai beaucoup apprécié l’exposition autour des synthétiseurs, avec une mise en parallèle du matériel et des albums sortis à l’époque, avec des artistes comme Dépêche Mode, Kraftwerk, New Order, … j’ai pu essayer quelques synthétiseurs et nouveaux appareils numériques.
Au petit auditorium, j’ai découvert des artistes comme Tim Glass ou encore Salomé qui a mixé sur un film muet, une production originale avec des pointes d’humour. On retrouve aussi la « corbeille » de la Bourse, ancien lieu où les agents passaient les ordres. J’ai pu voir des projections et des performances numériques. Beaucoup, beaucoup d’animations : hackathon, ateliers kids, docu-concerts, … en conclusion, une programmation bien pensée où l’on trouve forcément son bonheur.
Une première édition réussie donc, qui amènera, j’espère, à pérenniser cet événement. Un grand merci à l’INA.

The musical and digital experience dedicated to electronic cultures
For the first edition of this event, the INA (National Audiovisual Institute) did things in big way. This first festival takes place in the beautiful setting of the Palais Brongniart in Paris. The ground floor including the Grand Auditorium, the ground floor with its NEF, and all level 2 are open for the occasion to the public.
Digital arts are put forward.

Jean-Michel Jarre is the godfather of the festival. During a conference at the Grand Auditorium, he returned to his 50-year career and his vision of the music of tomorrow, including the use of artificial intelligence. New styles of digitally distributed concerts around the world are expected, concerts with artists playing in different parts of the world, like gaming platforms where a Frenchman can play with a Japanese, an American, a Russian, from his living room.
The nave of the Palais Brongniart welcomes the billboards with among others, Erol Alkan, Arnaud Rebotini, The Supermen lovers. Live I loved. The sound level is quite high, but earplugs are distributed free of charge. There are also places where you can rest, indoors or outdoors on the steps of the Palace, or on a deckchair. Space bar and food trucks are present to satisfy the small thirsts and hungers. In short, a very good organization.
The Festival is also projections, exhibitions, merchandising. We’re not bored. What is nice is to walk in this mythical palace (former Paris Bourse) and discover the different stands and activities. For my part, I really enjoyed the exhibition around synthesizers, with a paralleling of the material and albums released at the time, with artists like Dépêche Mode, Kraftwerk, New Order, … I could try some synthesizers and new digital devices.
At the small auditorium, I discovered artists like Tim Glass or Salomé who mixed on a silent film, an original production with points of humor. We also find the « basket » of the Stock Exchange, the former place where agents placed orders. I could see projections and digital performances. Many, many animations: hackathon, workshops kids, docu-concerts, … in conclusion, a well thought out programming where one finds necessarily his happiness.
A first successful edition therefore, which will bring, I hope, to perpetuate this event. A big thank you to the INA.
