C’est parti pour la Paris Design Week, le rendez-vous incontournable des professionnels et amateurs de Design pour la Maison et l’Objet.

Première chose à faire : télécharger l’appli mobile PARIS DESIGN WEEK. Vous aurez ainsi tous les événements, à savoir les ateliers, les cocktails, les conférences / débats, inaugurations, visites guidées,… géolocalisés en plus. Vous pouvez aussi vous procurer le guide papier et le plan chez l’un des 350 participants.

Cette édition se déroule sous le signe du « développement désirable » à savoir combiner plaisir, esthétique et éthique. La conscience des enjeux et défis environnementaux se ressent de plus en plus dans les créations des designers aussi bien chez les nouveaux que chez les reconnnus. Autant dans le choix des matériaux, que dans l’usage fait de l’objet. On assiste ainsi au renouveau du local, de l’artisanat et de l’upcycling.

Dès mercredi, j’ai ainsi pu assister au vernissage de l’exposition « Le French design incubateur » où ont été présentés 22 projets de mobiliers innovants, certains notamment dédiés au monde de l’entreprise. J’ai apprécié l’aspect fonctionnel (gain de place) du meuble de rangement vertical pour tabourets et le design particulièrement réussi de la mini-caravane CARAPATE (prévoir tout de même 15 900€ minimum). Son aménagement est personnalisable (couleur et équipement).

Jeudi, j’ai participé à la soirée RIVE GAUCHE AFTERWORK, balade dans les beaux quartiers de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Ambiance festive assurée. Représentation du Beau et du Design raffiné. The Conran Shop, Depadova, La Maison du Commerce, Cassina, Karakter, Thierry Lemaire / Les marbreries de la Seine et Silvera auront été les étapes de mon pèlerinage. Mention spéciale aux marbreries de la Seine : un mobilier en matière singulière, en travertins (roche sédimentaire calcaire continentale biogénique, merci wikipedia 😉 ) et marbres d’exception.

Je vous encourage à participer aux afterworks de ce vendredi (Opéra / Concorde / Etoile) et de ce samedi (Palais Royal / Marais / Bastille, Vertbois). Osez franchir les portes de ces enseignes du luxe, vous ne le regretterez pas. L’accueil y est en général plutôt sympathique 😉

From Wednesday, I was able to attend the opening of the exhibition "The French design incubator" where 22 innovative furniture projects were presented, some particularly dedicated to the business world. I appreciated the functional aspect (space saving) of the vertical storage unit for stools and the particularly successful design of the CARAPATE mini-caravan (still allow € 15,900 minimum). Its layout is customizable (color and equipment).

Thursday, I took part in the RIVE GAUCHE AFTERWORK evening, a stroll in the beautiful districts of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Festive atmosphere guaranteed. Representation of Beauty and Refined Design. The Conran Shop, Depadova, La Maison du Commerce, Cassina, Karakter, Thierry Lemaire / The marbreries de la Seine and Silvera were the stages of my pilgrimage. Special mention to the marble works of the Seine: furniture in singular material, in travertines (sedimentary rock, biogenic continental limestone, thank you wikipedia ;-)) and exceptional marble.

I encourage you to participate in the afterworks this Friday (Opéra / Concorde / Etoile) and this Saturday (Palais Royal / Marais / Bastille, Vertbois). Dare to walk through the doors of these luxury brands, you won't regret it. The reception is generally quite friendly 😉
